ALFY - Advice Line For You
ALFY is a 24 hour telephone service. It operates 7 days a week for health and social care advice, aiming to keep you well at home.
The dedicated line is operated by experienced Community Nurses who are able to listen to callers concerns and provide advice, support or refer to other services such as District Nurse, Occupational Therapist, physiotherapy or Social Work for package of care.
The ALFY service used to be aimed at people over the age of 65, but it has now been changed to include anyone with a chronic long term condition such as Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), Multiple Sclerosis, Diabetes, cardiac problems and cancer diagnosis.
The service can be accessed by calling 01324 567 247. Remember ALFY is an advice line and not an emergency service - you should continue to call 999 in an emergency, or NHS 24 on 111 if you feel that you need a medical opinion when your GP practice is closed.
