Hospital Radio

Our Hospital Radio delivers a service both directly to headsets at the sides of patients' beds and via a low-powered AM signal within the grounds of the hospital itself.

Hospital radio stations like Radio Royal tailor programmes especially for the patients of the hospitals they serve, which in our case are Falkirk & Stirling Royal Infirmaries.

Radio Royal

Radio Royal was formed in 1976 and commenced broadcasting in May 1977.

Initially based at the R.S.N.H. in Larbert, we have moved locations several times. We are now based in state of the art studios in Falkirk Royal Infirmary.

Staffed entirely by volunteers, Radio Royal now broadcasts to both of Forth Valley's major hospitals - Falkirk & Stirling Royal Infirmaries. Originally we only broadcast to Falkirk Royal, and a few years later Stirling Royal was added. This service to Stirling was disconnected during our last move and on the 4th July 1998 we re-commenced broadcasting to Stirling, starting off with a mammoth 36 hour non stop sponsored broadcast.
