Unfortunately on Tuesday 1st April our AM transmitter failed. This has means we are not currently broadcasting on 1278AM our programmes are however still being carried to the older bedside headset system in Falkirk. Services to Stirling are unaffected.
We hope to re-commence our AM broadcasts as soon as possible.
Donate to Radio Royal Online
(Wednesday, March 12, 2008)
Now you can donate to help keep Radio Royal running without leaving the computer, phone, PDA, or whatever you're viewing this page with.
Radio Royal is a charity and depends on donations to keep its service going to the patients in Falkirk and Stirling Royal Infirmaries.
It costs a lot of money just to keep things ticking over. A hospital radio station isn't cheap to run - in fact, the operational costs aren't much cheaper than a commercial radio station. Although because the station is staff entirely by volunteers, the salary bill is much lower.
Over the next couple of years, Radio Royal will also be saving up to buy new equipment to enable us to broadcast to the new acute hospital being built in Larbert. That's also going to be expensive.
This is where you come in. You can help keep Radio Royal going by donating directly to the station using the PayPal Donate button on the front page.
If you don't want to directly give us money, you can still help by buying stuff you would normally buy from Amazon.co.uk through the search box on the front page - we get about 5 per cent of the cost.
We hope you'll help us help the patients in Falkirk, Stirling, and soon, in Larbert. Thanks.

Make It Happen Award
(Friday, December 09, 2005)
Radio Royal has been awarded a £200 Make It Happen Award to help with the cost of buying a new generator.
Announced during an Oscar-style ceremony at the Macdonald Inchyra Hotel near Polmont on Wednesday December 7, the station was among a host of deserving community groups to be given an award.
Sponsored by the Falkirk Herald and Combined Insurance, the presentation was made to Radio Royal Production/Training Controller Angelene Perry and Station Manager Andrew Southworth by Falkirk FC director of football Alex Totten.
Speaking after the ceremony Angelene told us the whole event was very exciting. She said: "When they were about to give out the award we had been nominated for I was really excited. And when it became clear we had actually won it, me and Andrew went up to the stage and did our best not to be nervous when handed the mike, being old pros of course."
The money will now go towards the new generator which should help Radio Royal to become more mobile in future.
It's Chriiiiiistmaaaaas!

Deck the halls with bows of Holly tra la la la la...
Yes the Christmas roadshow is upon us once again, thanks to organiser Andrew Southworth, who's giving us all the opportunity to spread some festive cheer and goodwill to all those lovely shoppers in Falkirk.
Our unique brand of seasonal cheer will be broadcasting from the High Street bandstand from 10am this Saturday December 10 through until 5pm.
This is one of those special chances you have to raise some badly needed funds for the station by shaking a can for an hour or so. All those who come along and do their bit for Radio Royal are truly the heroes of the station.
Hope to see you all there. (Remember the cold weather is a great excuse for wearing your wooly Santa hat and singing along to Christmas songs!!!)
The Play's the Thing...
(Tuesday, November 22, 2005)
'A Christmas Carol' by Charles Dickens is to be produced by members of Radio Royal and aired in December.
Ahh... Christmas comes but ones a year and this month the crew at Radio Royal have decided to pull out all the stops to ensure it's one to remember.
Penned by our budding playwrite in residence, Angelene Perry has whipped up a veritable feast of festive cheer by producing her own take on the Charles Dickens classic 'A Christmas Carol'.
With a cast and crew that could rival any Hollywood production, the play, which will go out on air on Christmas Eve, features Radio Royal chairman Andrew Morley as Ebenezer Scrooge backed by a long list of station favourites including Brian Lapsley and Bob Crawford.
This special production is the first in the station's history and hopefully will mark the beginning of a new Radio Royal Christmas tradition.
So tune in for a Christmas treat!!!

Maurice Meerkat will be travelling on official business and holidays throughout the World with employees from BAeSystems, Lochside, as a roving ambassador for the Charities Committee and helping to raise as much money as possible for the BAeSystems 'Charity Challenge'.
Charity Challenge is a World-wide BAeSystems initiative that raises money to support National and local charities in all the countries where BAeSystems operates. These include the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, South Africa, Saudi Arabia and India. In Scotland, this year's partner charity is Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland.
Maurice is seen with trainee presenters Gavin McWhinnie and Alisdair McCreadie and some old bloke he came across in the reception area!
Chairman's Challenge 2005!
(Friday, October 21, 2005)
Each year Radio Royal has to come up with the cash to keep us playing the tunes you love and each year the task presents new challenges to the membership.
In a bid to help keep us all motivated and ensure those pennies are rolling in, Radio Royal chairman Andrew Morley has thrown down the gauntlet to us all.
The Chairman's Challenge aims to reward the Radio Royal member who manages to raise the most amount of funds for the station in the course of a year.
However you want to raise the money is down to you (so long as it's legal).
All you have to do is let Andrew know how you're doing so your tally can be added to the list. So whether you want to host a coffee morning or place a collecting can at your work, there are dozens of ways to raise money for Radio Royal.
The winner of this year's Chairman's Challenge will, along with a partner, enjoy a slap-up meal free of charge. A list of those members currently at the top of the leader board will be made available on request. Stay tuned for more news...

On Thursday September 8, Radio Royal was out and about at the Forth Valley College Clackmannan Open Day.
Hundreds of new students turned up for the event hosted by Radio Royal's very own Andrew Southworth, Grant Thompson and Kat Lowe.
The pair of star DJs kept the crows entertained with a heavy mix of killer tunes and quick-witted banter for an incredible FIVE HOURS.
Irene McGarvey and Angelene Perry helped make sure the day was a roaring success by transporting the gear.
A big thank you from all Radio Royal members for the work put in by Andrew, Kat, Irene and Angelene - Well done guys!!!
The Open Day was merely the first in a summer programme of shows in which Radio Royal will be taking part.
On Wednesday September 28 Radio Royal will be hosting the Forth Valley College Falkirk Open Day and just one day later on September 29 the Stirling Centre in Springkerse will be our destination. Date Set For ASDA Event
(Wednesday, May 18, 2005)
Radio Royal is taking to the outdoors on June 26 to help ASDA celebrate their special family day event.
Presenters and fundraisers will be heading to the distribution centre at Westmains Industrial Estate in Falkirk to provide a backdrop of fabulous music and competitions for all ASDA employees.
The event will also give Radio Royal a badly needed opportunity to raise our bank balance (we are a charity after all). Last year's event was a huge success for the station and helped to raise hundreds of pounds as well as giving us the chance to eat candy floss and burgers (as if we need an excuse).
The day is open to all Radio Royal members and ASDA staff so come along and help us raise the profile of the station. Stay tuned for more details.
Ward Visiting Volunteers
(Tuesday, May 10, 2005)
Budding Radio Royal enthusiasts are being sought by the station in a bid to bring the programmes closer to the listeners.
Every week the station broadcasts hundreds of hours of music to the patients and staff of Stirling and Falkirk Royal Infirmaries. Our patient requests shows are our most popular programmes and depend on dedicated volunteers visitng the wards of both hospitals.
We require dedicated volunteers who can visit the wards of either hospital on a regular basis, chat with patients and staff and collect dedications and requests.
If you consider yourself a good communicator and would like to help out at Radio Royal then why not give us a call on 0845 430 1278 and ask to speak to Tracey Main.
