Radio Royal's Executive Team
The day-to-day running of Radio Royal, and the service we provide, is carried out by our Executive Committee - consisting of four Office Bearers and various departmental managers. They are elected at our Annual General Meetings - this is the Executive Committee for 2019/20.
Office Bearers
Chairman – Lee Tait
The Chairman is the principal point of contact between Radio Royal and any external bodies, and is also the chair of any meetings.
Secretary – Jim Prentice
The Secretary organises the meetings and takes minutes, and is responsible for the majority of the paperwork!
Treasurer – Simon Marshall
The ‘one with the money’ – the Treasurer looks after Radio Royal’s finances and keeps track of all income and expenditure.
Station Manager – Andrew Morley
The Station Manager assumes the role of Acting Chairman in the event that the Chairman is unavailable, but mainly deals with keeping the studios clean and buying coffee!
Departmental Managers
Engineering Manager – Craig Arthur
The Engineering Manager installs and maintains all of Radio Royal’s equipment – a specialist role as there’s a lot of it!
Information Technology Manager – Craig Arthur
The IT Manager looks after all of the hardware and software on Radio Royal’s computers.
Presentation & Production Manager – John Collins
The Presentation and Production Manager is responsible for the overall ‘sound’ of the station – approving shows for broadcasting, making sure they meet a suitable standard and devising the station's programme schedule.
Ward Visiting Managers – Ian Rhind & Sarah Reid
Ward visiting is a major part of our services at Radio Royal, the Ward Visitor Managers role is to ensure we are collecting as many requests as possible on a regular basis, and manage our team of ward visitors.
Volunteer Manager – Kevin Thomson
At the heart of Radio Royal is our large team of volunteers who work dedicate hours of time to Radio Royal. The Volunteer Manager ensures our volunteers are looked after and always have someone to guide and support them from the moment you start in Radio Royal.
Training Manager – Ryan Miller
The Training Manager organises the training of all new members (and some long standing ones!). Training sessions run at least once per week in our studios.
Fundraising Managers – Alan Paterson & Jimmy McNiven
The Fundraising Managers are responsible for organising all Radio Royal's fundraising applications, seeking support from the various external bodies that contribute funds to Radio Royal and liaising with our sponsors.
Communications Manager – Kat Walker
Our Communications Manager keeps our website and social media outlets up to date and liaises with the local press, making sure that upcoming events and any other news is publicised.
Record Librarian – Kevin Thomson
Radio Royal has around 7,000 records, loads of Compact Discs and thousands of digital downloads. The Record Librarian makes sure it's all in good order, easy to find and available to presenters.
