Radio Royal

Radio Royal was formed in 1976 and commenced broadcasting in May 1977.

Initially based at the R.S.N.H. in Larbert, we have moved locations several times. Having spent our most recent years at Falkirk, broadcasting to both Falkirk and Stirling Royal Infirmaries, we have now returned 'home' and are based in state of the art studios in the new Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Larbert.

Staffed entirely by volunteers, Radio Royal now broadcasts via bedside television sets to patients and staff at FVRH, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our live service was suspended while we moved to our new home, but formally recommenced on October 22nd 2010, kicking off with a non-stop live 48 hour sponsored broadcast.
