Danny's Diverse Discs

Danny Wheildon

I am the presenter of Danny's Diverse Disks, which airs 16:00-18:00 on a Friday where I play diverse songs from particular countries and years. Despite being new to Radio Royal, I enjoy the chance to meet new people with similar music interests to myself.

When I'm not at Radio Royal I can probably be found walking my dog Charlie or working on my PC. You might also find me playing drums in his dad's shed!

I recent graduated from the University of the West of Scotland, where I received a BSc (Hons) in Computer Networking. Before University, I worked as an IT Support Technician for Stirling Council.

My favourite pastime is staying up-to-date with the latest rock and metal music and playing single-player video games. I consider myself to be an expert drummer and I love to create my own music too!

My dream interviewee would be Bill Gates as he was the reason I became interested in tech and IT.

My favourite metal bands are Trivium, Jungle Rot, and Obituary - though my favourite band to play on radio is Green Day. My favourite genre of music is Death Metal, however I appreciate that there is no room for that genre on Radio Royal, so my favourite on air genre is pop punk and my favourite song is 'Year 3000' by Busted.

I believe that people would be surprised to learn that back in 2016, I completed a tandem skydive at Hibaldstow, Lincolnshire where I jumped out a plane at 15,000ft! My favourite holiday, so far, was 2015 P&O Cruise around the western Mediterranean. I would describe myself in 3 words as: passionate, musical, and literal.
