Simon’s Cornucopia

Hi there. My name is Simon Marshall and I am the presenter of Simon’s Cornucopia. I also currently serve on the Executive Committee here at Radio Royal, as both Treasurer and Trustee.

I have been with Radio Royal since 1990 and my Cornucopia is, apparently, well loved by many of the patients.

Before retiring I ran my own training business, specialising in management, sales and communication skills. I enjoy driving my twenty seven year old convertible with the hood down in all weathers and sampling single malt whiskies (but not at the same time). I found my confidence when I attended The Royal Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow at the age of ten which led me to get involved in acting on TV (remember Dr Findlay’s Case Book) and Radio.

I was recently asked who would I like to interview (past or present). I would have loved to have interviewed Elvis Presley. As for my personal attributes, I feel myself to be loyal, cheeky and pedantic. My favourite band is 10cc. The first record I ever bought was Twist and Shout by The Beatles. My best hospital radio memory was when I played a couple of songs for my newly born son back in 1988.
